The Home to Sea Fishing in Wales
How To Get There
Come off A55 at the Conway exit and turn right and head for the Marina.
As you reach the bend turn left towards Aberconway caravan park follow this road to the end where you will find a large car park. Fishing is just over the small sand dune.
How To Fish
This is the jewel in the crown in North Wales and on its day is as good if not better than anywhere else. It is a Bass Nursery area; you can fish here from the shore but not from boats using sandeels as bait.
The best mark here is virtually straight out from the car park where some very large Bass can be caught from low tide all the way up to high.
Look for the gullies at low water and fish these as the tide comes in, these are brilliant fish holding areas where the Bass come in hunting for their prey.
This venue can be as prolific during the day as it can be at night where the main species you will be after here are Bass, Plaice and Flounder caught on worm, fish and crab baits.
Be careful if you are in front of the gully as the tide comes in. It fills very rapidly and although it’s not that deep you will get very wet.
There are several places where you can fish here marked on the map from a very short walk up to a 25 minute walk.
